BEAUDESERT RIFLE CLUB
Shooting did it long before other sports thought of it! Women were involved with the rifle clubs. The young and the old competed on a level playing field. People with disabilities saw no disadvantage as they got to the mound.
To me, that is something of which all competitive shooters should be proud.
In 1901 the QRA held the first full-bore Ladies Matches in Australia. Lizzie Savage was the winner of Ladies Matches in 1901, 1902 and 1903. Lizzie Savage was also the first female member of the Queensland Rifle Association.
Since then, there are names on Honour Boards around the world showing the diversity of entrants who compete in this great sport. There’s men and women, old and young… competition today is alive and well.
TRULY A SPORT FOR EVERYONE WHO CHOOSES TO PARTICIPATE AND COMPETE.
